Hi! I’m Roberto

I created the visuals that led you to this page.

How can you share my work?

All of my illustrations are covered by CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licensing by default.

What does this mean? If you'd like to share any of my visuals, feel free to do so if it's for personal use and not for promotional intent and if you do it from a personal account and not a business account, adhering to these three conditions:

  • you credit me when you post the visual. As an example, look at what Steven did here on LinkedIn. A simple tag won’t work.

  • my visuals remain un-edited. No crop, no filter, no logos or text added, and keeping my signature.

  • you don’t use my visuals for commercial use. In other words, do not use my content if you include any call to action related to "follow my account for more" or "buy my product/service" or "subscribe to my newsletter" or any other promotional intent.

If it’s for commercial use, I have a licensing section.

How can you be sure of what “commercial use” is? What if someone shares one of my illustrations with a call to action? Can you do the same? No, you can’t do the same, since you can’t know if that person bought a license or if we are doing a special collaboration. Please always refer to the previous guidelines, and in case of doubt, you might reach out to me and share what you would like to share beforehand. You may use this form for that.

Post Engagement & Support

I maintain strict boundaries between my work hours and social media engagement. While I cannot commit to immediate engagement with posts using my work, I try to support and engage with properly attributed shares when I return online (typically in the early mornings and evenings, CET). This boundary is non-negotiable, and crucial for my work-life balance and professional focus. If immediate engagement is essential for your content strategy, please consider this before using my illustrations.

What about using my illustrations in a corporate presentation, training or workshop?

If you are being paid for that presentation, training, or workshop, then it's commercial use. If it's part of your day-to-day work and one of your responsibilities, contact me. On several occasions, I have permitted to use my work to support a topic dear to me.

What about using my illustrations in a newsletter?

Yes, you can use my illustrations in your newsletter under certain conditions. Here's what you need to know:

If your newsletter is purely for sharing content with no commercial or promotional intent:

  • You may use one of my illustrations per newsletter issue (and with reasonable time in between, definitely not every week ;)

  • You must credit me and include a link to my website.

  • There should be no "paid version" of the newsletter.

  • After sending the newsletter, please inform me by submitting a contact form with the link to the article.

For any commercial or promotional newsletters, please contact me for permission.

If you're unsure whether your newsletter qualifies as non-commercial or if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me before using the illustration.

What about translations?

Can you translate them into another language or make any adaptations to the illustrations before resharing them? No, you can’t do that, but you can still reshare them “as is” without changing any text, colors, or any other element of the illustration. And if you are really eager to share my illustrations in another language, reach out to me and share your idea; perhaps I can do a local version.

What if you want to do an iteration of one of my illustrations?

If you are an illustrator and are inspired by my work to do a version on the same topic with a twist, of course, go ahead. I’d love to see it, so tag me on the same platform when you share it. I also love to iterate on other creators’ illustrations; it’s a wonderful way to build on each other’s work. Here’s an example of one iteration that I did on one of Jun Han’s brilliant illustrations.

Do you want to support me and my work further?

If you want to become a supporter of my work, I invite you to consider subscribing to my newsletter. I have a monthly and annual subscription, and if you become a “founding member” subscriber, you will also get access to my archive.

Thanks again for your support!
